Frequently Asked Questions About Studio Sessions                                                                                                                                                     Back to previous page

How much do the sessions cost? A one hour studio session costs £85 plus vat.

This includes a selection of about 6 retouched pictures on a CD.

You can see the pictures during the session and only pay when you are happy.

Where are they held?

At Stephen Hepworth's studio in the Derbyshire Dales, near Sheffield:

Unit 12b, Brough Business Centre, Hope Valley, Derbyshire, S33 9HG

It is very important to use the directions on the Location Page.    There is ample parking but no waiting room.

What if I can't keep my appointment? If you are going to be late,  just call and let us know.  It is important that you arrive relaxed!

If you need to make a new appointment, please phone.

Who can come with me? Due to limited space, you should come into to the studio alone although people under 18

need to be accompanied by one adult.

What sort of pictures will be taken?

A variety of head and shoulders pictures which clearly show what you look like as well as

communicating your personality.

It is better for pictures to imply an actor's correct playing age.

The convention is for black and white 10x8 pictures.

A great deal of care is taken with the lighting and the choice of backgrounds.

Soft focus is not normally used.

What clothes should I bring? There are limited changing facilities.

Women should bring both a plain white/light and a plain black/dark top.

Hair can be worn both up and down.

Unconventional hair styles can make the actor look unsuitable for most parts.

You will need to see to your own make up which should not be too heavy.

Jewellery should be very simple.

Men should bring both a plain dark and a plain white shirt or T shirt.

Please bring a hair brush.

What if I am not looking my best?

Don't worry about one or two spots!

We will retouch all photographs so long as they still give a true impression

of how you naturally are.

If you really think you are not at your best, please call on the day and make another appointment..

When will I see the pictures? As they are being taken.  You can work with the photographer to get them just right.

You will not be charged unless you are happy with the results.

What about copyright? The photographer owns the rights to reproduce the pictures but allows you to print as many

copies as you like for your own use.

No model release agreement is made between you and the photographer so he will not make

the pictures available to any other parties.
